Poets Of A Generation

I don’t understand why

He said

In this day and age

You’d go back to Floyd, Mac and Drake

To ignore the beauty

She said

Of those who’ve gone before

Would be a big mistake

The Darkness

The darker nights
Are drawing in,
Not least those
In my heart.

I should stop
Drinking bathtub gin,
Now that would
Be a start.

Will

this

She
said

Don’t
I deserve
a reprieve?

That
all
depends
on the
book

He
said

In
which
you
choose
to believe

Poetry

Some pills
make it
better

Some
make it
worse

Sometimes
the only
solace

Resides
in written
verse

Our Waltz

My joy
is in your
weakness.

Your solace
is in my
pain.

Both
forever
destined,

To dance
together
in the rain.
